Day 15, 16, 17 - Hold - 12.09.2009

Day 15 - Monday, December 7, 2009

I was on hold with our credit card processing company for about 15 minutes when I finally hung up... Really?

Day 16 - Tuesday, December 8, 2009

WTF? I have TWO strands of lights on my tree.... how does this happen? How does just THE MIDDLE of the tree go dark? Hold on... I'll fix it eventually. Have to get the dern ornaments on it too!

Wahla! Finally finished. It's still a bit deformed but... it'll do.

Day 17 - Wednesday, December 9, 2009

I am not going to work today. 7.2" and counting... Blizzard warning. Closing ramps on the interstate and the governor closed all non-essential state offices and UW campuses...

But hold on... Got a text from the boss.... 7 inches is hardly any snow, he says? #@*#* off, Rob. NOT GOING IN!

Day 12 thru 14 - I took the pictures... - 12.06.2009

It's not that I haven't TAKEN pictures every day... it's just that I haven't necessarily POSTED them every day... So that's not really a fail is it? :)

Friday, December 4, 2009 - At the brewery... the snow settled on our now wintery planters.

Saturday, December 5, 2009 - Spent the majority of the day Christmas shopping with Nate. I found a chair I really liked (fabric below) for my living room but they were out of stock and the sale price ended yesterday. Oh well, it wouldn't have fit in the car anyway!

Sunday, December 6, 2009 - Spent a great deal of this morning fighting with my Christmas tree... which was a bit deformed and far too tall for my house! BUT, after snipping, sawing, one pair of broken scissors and wrapping the whole darn thing in lights, it doesn't look half bad. Even Barley had to suffer through decorating with us... :)

(I'll post a picture of the tree once I wrangle all of the ornaments on it.)

OH... When Nate broke my scissors half-way through reshaping the tree, I had to run to the hardware store to grab new snippers... (I went in my pajamas.) Apparently this squirrel is NOT in the Christmas spirit (or he doesn't like polka-dot pjs)... he was shrieking at me from the top of the power pole in front of my house!

(Now that I look in the daylight, I think HE might be what was "in" my ceiling the other night. There are little footprints all over the roof above my living room. I bet he's what I heard, the little critter!)

Day 11 - Technicolor Dreamcoat - 12.03.2009

I think I should've worn a coat today.

True Story - As I was driving home tonight, upon fairly slick roads, I was talking to my mother on the phone. (Dumb in and of itself but I wanted to ask her a question about a pellet stove.) A deer comes into view on the roadside, as I'm rounding a corner, no less... I try to stop and naturally skid.

Luckily the deer turns and steps the other way, not in front of my car. (Whew.) I tell my mom I have to go as A) I'm driving on slippery roads, B) it's difficult to see now and C) I almost hit a deer. She says OK (rather nonchalantly) and then asks me about the Jason Mraz CD she just bought... Apparently she can't seem to get it to play in her car but it will play on her PC. Asks why it might not be playing... which turns into a discussion on how to burn a copy of the CD on her computer.

FML.

Day 10 - FML - 12.2.2009

So. Yeah. But hey... this is a great bottle of wine.

And there might be something crawling IN my ceiling right now. Figures.

Day 9ish - Visit - 12.01.2009

I had a meeting all day in Amherst, Wisconsin... and on the way back stopped by a local furniture store to visit my coffee-table... Oh... some day it will be mine... (Or one like it!)

Day 8 - Mail Fail - 11.30.2009

OK... that's a rather substantial stack of mail. I wonder if there is anything important in there? Psh.

Day 7 - Just in Case - 11.29.2009

Still hanging out with Nate's family at his parents'house. Not sure all of what today will entail... but since I don't want to have another FAIL... I'm going to post my photo now!

Today is Jane & John Schraufnagel's 40th wedding anniversary. Awww. How adorable!

My only question: why didn't any of that "commitment" rub off on their 3 boys? None of them are married.... grown men, ages ranging from nearly 30 to nearly 40. Sheesh!
